About the Role
We are seeking a skilled 3D Animation Engineer with a focus on Unreal Engine to enhance the realism, intricacy, and variety of animations utilized in generating synthetic data for our simulation tools. These animations are crucial for ensuring that humans, vehicles, and other entities in the simulation accurately reflect real-world behaviors while maintaining the necessary diversity to prevent overfitting in machine learning models trained on synthetic data.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the technical development of animation systems within Unreal and the associated pipelines. Your responsibilities will include creating an animation system capable of adapting a wide range of animations in real-time, capturing the realism, complexity, and diversity found in the real world. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers and artists with diverse backgrounds in gaming, feature films, autonomous systems, and robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop systems to produce realistic animations of human actions, such as entering/exiting vehicles, using mobile devices, and cycling, along with realistic animations of animals in various movements.
- Design a system that varies animations to enhance diversity while preserving realism.
- Modify animations to meet various constraints, including adjusting stride lengths and interacting with objects.
- Proven experience with game or real-time animation systems.
- Expertise in animation systems, with a focus on breaking down tasks into manageable steps and phases.
- Strong proficiency in at least one 3D Digital Content Creation tool (e.g., Maya or Houdini).
- Extensive experience with Unreal Engine or a similar platform.
- Experience with games featuring characters entering and exiting vehicles.
- Background in developing procedural animation systems.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques.
- Experience with animation blending.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine and Animation Blueprints.
At Applied Intuition, compensation for eligible positions includes a base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base salary is just one aspect of the total compensation package, which may also include equity options, extensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401k retirement benefits with employer matching, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
Our pay ranges reflect the intended target base salary for new hires in this position. The actual salary offered will be influenced by various factors including experience, credentials, educational background, skill level, interview performance, and the scope of the position.
