Position Overview:

As a Lead Software Architect in product development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping product design and architectural decisions for our sequencing technology initiatives. This position encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities related to product development and algorithm engineering, where you will engage with extensive experimental datasets produced by our proprietary single-molecule electronic DNA sequencing platform.

Your collaboration will span multiple scientific disciplines, including physics, biochemistry, electrical engineering, and software engineering. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about acquiring new knowledge from these varied fields and applying it to an ambitious interdisciplinary project.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and architect software systems leveraging expertise in pattern recognition and machine learning.
  • Implement software development methodologies to fulfill business objectives.
  • Collaborate with scientists across diverse fields to enhance parameter estimation code.

Required Skills:
  • Proficient in scientific programming with Python, with a strong willingness to expand Python skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of pattern recognition and machine learning principles.
  • Motivated to broaden your existing skill set; flexibility to learn new tools or methodologies as needed.
  • Experience with distributed computing or cloud solutions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics, natural language processing, chemistry, or biophysics is a plus.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, long-term projects.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a dynamic, startup-like environment.
