In this position, you will be at the forefront of advancing the fundamental principles of artificial intelligence. We are looking for candidates who possess deep expertise in generative AI, deep learning fundamentals, and optimization techniques, and who are enthusiastic about areas such as neuro-symbolic AI, personalization and recommendation systems, large language models, and robustness and uncertainty quantification. You will collaborate with a distinguished team of domain experts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to define our strategic direction and develop advanced capabilities that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical leadership in Neuro Symbolic AI, Multimodal and Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning.
- Drive innovation in AI-driven fintech applications through strategic partnerships and creative solutions.
- Engage with the academic and broader research community via publications, presentations, and collaborative efforts.
- Work towards ambitious long-term research objectives aligned with Intuit's product offerings while identifying key intermediate milestones.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of designers, program managers, researchers, and legal experts to develop new capabilities for current and future products.
- Mentor junior researchers and interns by providing guidance on goal setting and technical direction to achieve successful outcomes.
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on AI, ML, or Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of relevant experience following the completion of a PhD.
- Demonstrated experience leading a research or applied research team.
- Proven track record of publications, ideally with first-author contributions in top-tier AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, KDD, ACL, AAAI).
- 10+ years of experience in conducting theoretical or applied research with a strong ability to define and drive research projects.
- Experience in disseminating innovative technical ideas to the broader scientific community through open-source contributions, publications, and presentations.
- Proficiency in developing and debugging using Python with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Deep technical expertise in machine learning, with hands-on experience in deep NLP architectures, neuro-symbolic AI, or robust and explainable AI.
- Passionate about the future of Money, Payments, FinTech, and the transformative potential of these technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, product technologists, and other stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to influence teams and advocate for research solutions across the organization.
