Job Title: Business Development Manager

At Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team in Los Angeles. As a key member of our business development team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and development across our practice areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and revenue across our practice areas.
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and business development teams to identify opportunities and develop business development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, lawyers, and other stakeholders to drive business growth and development.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote our services and expertise to clients and prospects.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Manage key practice group information, including experience, client profiles, market intelligence, and contact lists.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop new external marketing collateral and update content on our website.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a professional services organization, preferably in a law firm.
  • 1+ years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Ability to establish credibility with legal personnel at all levels of the firm.
  • Demonstrates an efficient mix of confidence, tact, patience, and persistence.
  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to understand the firm's mission and business priorities, practice activities, and related market dynamics.
  • Commitment to client service.
  • Elevated levels of organization, communication, and writing skills.
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness.
  • Elevated level of proficiency with all Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrates initiative-taking drive and follow-up on projects while thinking outside the box.
  • Previous record with identifying, developing, and implementing best practices to expand cross-selling opportunities that yield high realization successes.
  • Strong multitasking and project management skills and understanding how to prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrates confidence and ability to work independently to enhance communications within and across practice groups, offices, and members of management.
  • Ability to drive, maintain, and execute traction with business development efforts.
  • Collaboration with the practice management team, the marketing team, outside vendors, and consultants, and other administrative professional staff.
