Plumbing Estimator

Ross Plumbing is seeking a skilled Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for creating accurate estimates for commercial plumbing projects, working collaboratively with clients, contractors, and team members to gather project information, and reviewing construction blueprints and project specifications to determine costs.

• Create detailed estimates for commercial plumbing projects, including material lists and vendor quotes
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project managers to gather project information and resolve issues
• Review and qualify vendor quotes and bid documents to ensure accurate scope coverage
• Perform detailed bid document review to accurately capture/solicit vendors/subs for quotes
• Attend pre-bid surveys to incorporate site conditions into the estimate
• Perform detailed take-offs and produce estimate software reports
• Identify, compile, and submit RFI questions in a timely manner
• Consult with clients, vendors, and project managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Collect remaining estimating price data, including management and general conditions costs
• Perform breakout, alternate, and value engineering pricing as required
• Assist with proposal scope letters for accurate inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications
• Provide project turnover information after award and participate in turnover meetings
• Assist in tracking bid status to acquire bid results
• Determine actual project scope and cost
• Set up job schedules and timelines

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or HS Diploma with 3 years estimating experience, or HS Diploma with 5 years trade-related experience
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and systems
• Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
• Knowledge of estimating software, Excel, Word, and other relevant computer programs
• Knowledge of standard English written grammar and English usage
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and plan and organize work
• Ability to win work at a reasonable profit
• Ability to maintain consistent attention to detail
• Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License

• Previous experience as a Commercial Plumbing Estimator
• Knowledge of industry advancements, building codes, and regulations
• Ability to work independently with little direction
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to be well-organized and reliable
• Ability to be comfortable working with numbers and technology
• Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
