Position: SERVICE MANAGER

The Service Manager plays a vital role in enhancing and overseeing daily service operations, managing client accounts, and executing projects to boost profitability and ensure customer loyalty. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities such as talent management, ongoing quality enhancement, cultural leadership, and the execution of strategic initiatives within the designated area.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs and oversees the U.S. Engineering Service's personnel in the designated region, including recruitment, performance management, talent development, mentorship, succession planning, and adherence to human resource policies.
  • Establishes and nurtures robust relationships with key clients and strategic partners to effectively address client concerns and identify business growth opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the regional General Manager on budgeting, forecasting, overhead management, profit oversight, and the formulation of the regional business strategy, including contract negotiations.
  • Provides support for scheduling conflicts involving service technicians for various service tasks, including time and materials service, preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work.
  • Maintains an optimal balance of labor and monthly labor forecasts, considering skill levels and labor costs, while working with the team to align staffing workloads, budgeting, and schedules to achieve productivity and profitability targets.
  • Works with other regional Service Managers and leaders to ensure operational consistency and the efficient use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Ensures compliance with the company's safety program and policies, guaranteeing that operations personnel adhere to administrative policies, safety regulations, and other guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Approves requests for tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and vehicle repairs within the operational budget limits.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is highly preferred. Equivalent combinations of field experience and leadership will be considered.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years in mechanical construction, with at least 5 years in operational management within a business unit, ideally in a mechanical service division.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams capable of cross-functional collaboration while driving strategic objectives.
Skills and Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical service industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with a proven track record of fostering effective professional relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively to enhance team performance and achieve objectives.
  • Capability to influence and communicate effectively with diverse audiences, regardless of their technical knowledge.
  • Proficient in developing high-performance teams through innovative management techniques.
  • Adept at identifying and researching potential opportunities, supporting procurement strategies, and leveraging insights gained during the pre-award process to secure proposal wins.
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills to lead and manage change initiatives.
  • Customer-focused, dedicated to meeting the expectations of both internal and external clients.
  • Understanding of all aspects of union craft agreements and negotiations.
  • Proven ability to manage a team effectively to achieve results amidst changing priorities.
Physical and Travel Requirements:
  • Frequent sitting, use of keyboard/monitor, 10-key, and telephone.
  • Occasional travel to regional offices may be necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The salary range for this position is set between $115,360 and $162,946 annually, reflecting U.S. Engineering's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Compensation for the selected candidate will be determined based on various factors, including internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
  • In addition to salary, team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and individual performance, as well as paid time off. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision plans, retirement contributions, and educational savings contributions.
