Position Overview:

The Culinary Service Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe and nutritious meals for residents and guests within our dining facilities. Responsibilities may encompass various aspects of food service, sanitation, and meal preparation. Work schedules will vary based on operational needs. This is a temporary role allowing for up to 999 hours of work within a 12-month timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a range of simple entrees and side dishes following established recipes. Clean and prepare fresh produce and assist with the organization and storage of ingredients.
  • Set up and arrange dining areas, including salad bars and dessert stations, ensuring all food items are ready for service. Adjust food holding equipment temperatures and prepare necessary utensils and condiments.
  • Attend to customer needs during meal service by providing prompt and friendly assistance, while maintaining cleanliness in serving and dining areas.
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of equipment in the dishwashing area. Sanitize tableware, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure the dining area is clean and linens are properly laundered and stored. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Engage in daily team meetings and collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet operational goals.
  • May offer training and support to student employees.
  • Carry out all assigned tasks in a manner that fosters a collaborative and respectful work environment, supporting the educational mission of the university.
