Pomegranate Hospitality is in search of a skilled and dedicated Culinary Operations Leader to guide our vibrant team at Safta, a renowned modern Israeli restaurant recognized by the James Beard Foundation and led by Chef Alon Shaya. In this pivotal role, you will be essential in maintaining Safta's culinary ethos while managing key leadership and operational tasks.
As the Culinary Operations Leader, you will be a vital member of Safta's management team, collaborating closely with the Chef de Cuisine to enhance the restaurant's culinary standards and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include overseeing kitchen activities, fostering the growth of the culinary team, and ensuring the utmost quality and execution of our dishes. Additionally, you will have the unique chance to work alongside the service team to craft an exceptional dining experience that reflects our core principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with the Chef de Cuisine and culinary team to design and implement innovative and delicious menu offerings that resonate with Safta's culinary philosophy.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the culinary team, cultivating an environment of continuous improvement, learning, and collaboration.
- Take initiative in the creation and execution of new menu items and seasonal specialties, focusing on the use of local and seasonal produce.
- Maintain and enforce rigorous cleanliness, organization, and food safety protocols in the kitchen, setting a standard for the team.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to enhance kitchen operations and ensure financial viability.
- Promote open communication, positivity, and teamwork within the kitchen atmosphere.
- Serve as a role model for the team, embodying the values and culture of Pomegranate Hospitality daily.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in a leadership position, such as a Culinary Operations Leader or similar role, ideally in a high-volume dining establishment.
- Broad culinary expertise covering various cooking methods, flavor combinations, and artistic presentation.
- Strong leadership skills, with the capability to inspire, guide, and delegate effectively.
- Excellent organizational abilities and proficiency in managing time-sensitive tasks and priorities.
- Meticulous attention to detail, combined with a commitment to upholding the highest quality standards.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, ensuring strict compliance within the kitchen.
- Expertise in food costing, inventory oversight, and the overall management of a bustling kitchen.
- Creative vision and a true passion for the culinary arts, evident in your work.
