Next Door Eatery is a vibrant venue where connections are made, beverages are abundant, and culinary creations are expertly crafted. With a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, guests can choose to dine on the sunny patio or in the eclectic dining area.

The Culinary Operations Leader is responsible for the strategic planning, organization, training, and leadership of all Back of House (BOH) functions within the establishment. This role ensures that team members fulfill their responsibilities while managing food and labor expenses effectively. The Culinary Operations Leader will guide the team in alignment with our core values, policies, service standards, and culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all BOH operations, making critical decisions as necessary.
  • Foster a community-focused environment that prioritizes connections and strengthens existing relationships.
  • Maintain accurate staffing plans for the BOH, including interviewing and hiring qualified candidates.
  • Implement and supervise employee training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and provide ongoing training to staff.
  • Encourage professional growth among team members through constructive feedback and motivation.
  • Exemplify integrity and build trust within the team, promoting a respectful and collaborative workplace.
  • Lead by example, establishing high standards for service and operational discipline.
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, product quality, and cleanliness.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and community engagement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial and personnel tasks in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct weekly inventory and maintain budgetary controls.
  • Enforce sanitary practices and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Guarantee the consistent quality of food preparation and service, adhering to established recipes and procedures.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team through regular meetings and briefings.
  • Complete all assigned responsibilities efficiently and in line with the restaurant's standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, self-discipline, and a proactive attitude.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within a high-volume dining establishment.
  • Experience supervising a team of at least 20 employees is preferred.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature conditions and flexible hours.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level, including working with various kitchen equipment and maintaining a safe working environment.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $70,000 per year
