Job Title: Correctional Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Correctional Program Coordinator to join our team at the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. As a key member of our Bureau of Correctional Recovery Services, you will play a vital role in facilitating life change, fostering renewed responsibility, and building opportunities for individuals to become productive, restored citizens.

Job Summary:

The Correctional Program Coordinator will provide alcohol and drug counseling, as well as other ancillary services, to inmates on assigned caseloads. This includes completing intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning, as well as coordinating with other treatment services to ensure individualized treatment planning and a coordinated treatment approach.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide alcohol and drug counseling and other ancillary services to inmates on assigned caseloads.
  • Complete intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning for inmates.
  • Coordinate with other treatment services to ensure individualized treatment planning and a coordinated treatment approach.
  • Monitor attendance and participation progress of inmates in substance abuse programs.
  • Review case files and terminate program participation as necessary.
  • Provide continuing care planning and intervene in crisis situations.
  • Review inmate files for program admission consideration and treatment planning.
  • Contact the Adult Parole Authority and/or chemical dependency specialists regarding inmate activities.
  • Develop and coordinate substance abuse programming for inmates as assigned.
  • Monitor activities of volunteers and facilitate support/fellowship meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to volunteers involved in the recovery services program.
  • Participate in program quality assurance activities, including peer utilization and clinical record reviews.
  • Attend seminars and conferences as necessary.
  • Conduct self professionally and in a law-abiding manner at all times, in accordance with OhioMHAS and ODRC Standards of Employee Conduct.
