PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor is tasked with managing and directing the daily functions of the production area. This position is crucial in ensuring that manufacturing operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the company's quality standards. The Production Supervisor is instrumental in guiding and nurturing the production workforce, executing continuous improvement strategies, and ensuring adherence to company policies.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory; an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement practices is essential.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on motivating and developing team members.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from diverse groups.

  • Capacity to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experienced with manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing process enhancements and boosting operational efficiency.
  • Commitment to maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality for all shifts and meetings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of production team members, ensuring compliance with production timelines and quality benchmarks.
  • Assess production workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety and ongoing improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to team members, identifying areas for training and development.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Quality, Logistics) to address production challenges and enhance workflow.
  • Maintain precise production documentation and generate reports as needed.
  • Encourage a positive and cooperative work atmosphere, promoting teamwork and open dialogue.
  • Exhibit accountability, ownership, and urgency in achieving production objectives.
