PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the production floor. This role ensures that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and meet company standards for safety, quality, and productivity. The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in leading and developing the production team, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and increase operational efficiency.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production team members, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes to identify and address inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, identifying opportunities for training and development.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Quality, Logistics) to resolve production issues and optimize workflow.
  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports as required.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication.
  • Demonstrate accountability, ownership, and a sense of urgency in achieving production goals and objectives.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform the following physical activities:

  • Standing and walking for long periods.
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Operating machinery and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment:

The role primarily operates in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures.

The position may require standing, walking, and moving around the production floor for extended periods.
