Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in managing the sales team and supporting various operational functions within the store. This position involves supervising staff, assigning tasks, assessing employee performance, addressing staff issues, reviewing reports, and assisting with scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in developing and executing strategies to enhance customer engagement.
- Oversee daily customer service functions, including sales transactions, order processing, and payment handling.
- Monitor progress towards weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Manage and maintain store inventory levels.
- Evaluate employee performance and identify needs for recruitment and training.
- Inspire and guide staff to achieve optimal performance.
- Provide coaching and support to both new and existing Sales Associates.
- Track retail operating expenses, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Recommend training programs and sales techniques to improve team performance.
- Engage with customers to assess their needs and feedback.
- Analyze consumer trends and adjust product placement accordingly.
- Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Research new products and update store merchandise based on findings.
- Generate reports and analyze retail data, including revenue, expenses, and competitive landscape.
- Ensure all team members comply with company policies and procedures.
- Act as a representative of the store and set a positive example for staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role or similar capacity.
- Familiarity with recruitment and performance assessment processes.
- Understanding of financial principles and customer service standards.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to create and interpret reports, spreadsheets, and sales data.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Minimum of 3 years in management (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years in retail (preferred).
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to commit to a 45-hour work week.
Compensation will be based on experience.
