Position Overview

Sherwin-Williams is on the lookout for driven individuals interested in sales and customer service to participate in our Leadership Development Program ("LDP"). This immersive program spans eight weeks and offers practical experience within an Automotive Branch, equipping successful candidates with a thorough understanding of the business through hands-on involvement.

Program Details

Participants will be assigned to an Automotive Branch in the North East Region, which includes:
  • Connecticut
  • Massachusetts
  • New York
  • Rhode Island
  • Maine
  • New Hampshire
  • Vermont
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
Throughout the program, participants will acquire vital knowledge in sales, customer service, finance, and strategic business planning to enhance operational effectiveness. Additionally, they will have opportunities for professional networking to foster cross-functional relationships with departments such as Marketing, Operations, and Research & Development.

Training Experience

This training equips you with essential skills for a successful career in management and professional sales. Upon completion of the eight-week program, participants will transition into available Assistant Branch Manager roles.

Relocation Requirement

This position necessitates relocation during the training phase and for placement into the Assistant Branch Manager role following successful completion of the LDP.

Job Responsibilities

As part of the LDP, participants will assist Branch Managers in key operational functions, including:
  • Developing branch market strategies aligned with financial goals
  • Implementing business initiatives to boost sales and enhance profitability
  • Acquiring product knowledge to provide effective customer recommendations
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ensuring accurate completion and documentation of customer transactions
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory levels
  • Adhering to policies and procedures related to safety and security
  • Supporting employee training and performance management
  • Addressing customer and employee concerns
  • Assisting in staffing and scheduling needs
  • Analyzing financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements
  • Assisting with deliveries as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
  • Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally
  • Hold a bachelor's degree by the start of the program
  • Willingness to relocate if necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Willingness to relocate upon program completion
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Management, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service
  • Experience in team-oriented environments
  • At least one (1) year of leadership experience
