Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Leave Administrator to join our team at ARUP Laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and overseeing our leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and providing exceptional service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and oversee FMLA, intermittent FMLA, medical, and personal leave of absences
  • Assist Absence Management provider as needed with employee eligibility, medical certification, and notice requirements
  • Determine if the employee is eligible for continuation of Benefit Plans
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure the appropriate level of system access is granted to an employee while on leave
  • Assist in the development and implementation of leave policies and procedures
  • Administer and communicate various Leave policies and procedures
  • Ensure all departments maintain compliance with federal and state FMLA regulations
  • Develop and conduct FMLA training for managers and employees
  • Ensure timesheets and benefit arrears are accurate each pay period for employees on leave
  • Work in an environment with ambiguity, and make judgment calls and recommendations on resolution of issues
  • Follow pay practices and manage short-term disability pay and percentages
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all leaves of absence and related processes
  • Maintain accurate records of employee leaves
  • Ensure ARUP's absence policy is administered appropriately
  • Work closely with the benefits team and payroll
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, Pregnancy Leave, ADA, and Employee Benefits
  • Familiarity with HR technology (HRIS, CRM, Time Keeping Systems)
  • Experience working in an environment handling a high volume of claims
  • Experience in leave of absence administration
