Lemay, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to enhance our operations.

Schedule: M-F, 8-5. Starting pay is $19.00/hour with opportunities for regular wage increases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with various departments to address customer issues and demonstrate proficiency in proprietary operational systems.
  • Engage with customers to gather information and input data into the system for service requests, including installation, activation, discontinuation, or modifications.
  • Complete contract documentation, determine service charges, collect deposits, manage address changes, and issue service discontinuation orders.
  • Exhibit effective use of software applications, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Deliver customer services in a manner that fosters goodwill. Interact with customers and Waste Connections staff to ascertain service needs and resolve inquiries or complaints.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high volume of calls. Promote the sale of new or additional services.
  • Provide coverage for the reception desk as needed.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The work setting is an office environment that is clean, well-ventilated, and adequately lit. Customer Service Representatives typically have designated workstations equipped with a telephone, headset, and computer.
  • Call areas may be noisy, and the work can be repetitive and stressful, with limited downtime between calls, while still maintaining high service standards. Some calls are monitored to ensure quality.
  • Extended periods of sitting, typing, or using a computer are common.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Customer Service.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Email is preferred. Typing and 10-key skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Capability to analyze and resolve issues. Collect data, compile information, and prepare reports.
