Your New Role

This position offers comprehensive legal guidance and support regarding employment matters for People & Culture and business leaders within Warner Bros. Discovery. The primary focus is on assisting WBD's corporate business units and operations, while also engaging with various client groups and initiatives across WBD's global corporate functions. This role collaborates closely with the internal employment legal team to provide ongoing advice and expertise on a wide array of employee relations and labor issues within the United States. In conjunction with the international employment legal team, this position oversees global initiatives and challenges, including the rollout of international policies. You will lead a team of legal professionals, offering daily management and strategic direction. This role requires interpreting the latest employment laws and case precedents into clear, actionable guidance suitable for a fast-paced global business landscape. You will also conduct training sessions on critical legal topics for client groups.

Your Role Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and support on labor and employment issues.
  • Assist with corporate projects and initiatives, including restructuring reviews and policy harmonization.
  • Offer legal support for employment-related disputes and litigation, including administrative claims and arbitration.
  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate employment agreements while supporting WBD's contract administration team.
  • Oversee a team comprising legal and paralegal professionals.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience as a practicing labor and employment attorney.
  • Experience in a global context, ideally within the media sector.
  • Proven experience in supervising or managing other attorneys.
  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Active member of a state bar in good standing, eligible to practice as in-house counsel in New York or Georgia.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor and employment law, particularly within the media industry, to effectively prepare legal documents and represent WBD in legal matters.
  • Ability to draft, negotiate, and interpret complex legal agreements.
  • Strong research skills to address legal inquiries and provide comprehensive written and oral advice.
  • Experience in supervising and evaluating legal and paralegal staff.
