Description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Vice President of Operations.

As a pivotal member of the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the health and wellness of DeKalb County residents. LOCATION: This role requires travel to various health centers and locations throughout DeKalb County.

SALARY INFORMATION: Senior Exempt (Up to $140,000 based on education, experience, and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

The Vice President of Operations will report directly to the District Health Director/Chief Executive Officer (DHD/CEO) and will be instrumental in executing the agency's strategic initiatives. This leadership role requires the ability to implement strategies effectively, ensuring the health department operates with maximum efficiency while delivering high-quality services to the community. Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing operational, managerial, and administrative processes.
  • Establishing and maintaining systems and procedures to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
  • Facilitating communication and fostering development among the leadership team and staff.
  • Driving results and improving overall operational efficiency within the department.
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, along with seven years of experience managing professional-level staff, or ten years of related professional experience with seven years in a management role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: An advanced degree in business or operations management is preferred, along with 5-10 years of executive-level operational experience. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional leadership presence, business acumen, and communication skills. Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and grant writing is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
