About the Role

The Golden State Warriors are seeking a committed and proactive Accounts Receivable Manager to become a vital part of their growing Accounting team. In this position, you will leverage your analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail to manage all accounts receivable functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who excels in dynamic environments and can independently address challenges while nurturing the growth and success of team members.

Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing various components of the monthly close process and general ledger, designing and executing efficient processes, and participating in additional projects. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable operations, billing processes, and collaborations with internal and external departments.
  • Work closely with FP&A, Legal, Sales, AR, and other business stakeholders on policies, processes, and initiatives while supporting key system improvements and advocating for billing automation.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency to streamline revenue processes and accelerate the revenue close timeline.
  • Address all customer inquiries, oversee the complete customer billing cycle from sales order to cash collection, and ensure accurate revenue recognition in the ERP system.
  • Examine customer contracts and partnership agreements to determine appropriate billing schedules.
  • Establish reconciliation procedures, reports, and schedules for customer aging.
  • Take responsibility for the month-end accounts receivable close by preparing all necessary AR account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Implement quality controls over revenue transactions and reporting to guarantee accuracy and compliance with GAAP, along with sufficient documentation for external reporting and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with and support external auditors.
  • Lead and mentor the accounts receivable team.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including full-cycle Accounts Receivable, billing/cash management, and collections.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing a team of 2 or more employees.
  • Experience in establishing workflows with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP accounting software, preferably NetSuite.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ability to identify and report any unusual operational or financial discrepancies to management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Capacity to build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, service, and resolution skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
