Position Overview:

The Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the IRC's Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS) for Unaccompanied Children (UC). This full-time position is primarily focused on managing intakes and performing data entry to ensure compliance with funder requirements and case management targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all tasks related to the acceptance of referrals within the UC portal system.
  • Assess Post Release Services case referrals as Level 1 or Level 2, adhering to program guidelines that may involve screening for victimization indicators.
  • Collaborate with Regional Coordinators, Supervisors, and Case Managers to determine capacity for case acceptance prior to intake.
  • Gather necessary intake data from the UC Portal for accurate entry into IRC's ETO database.
  • Conduct a significant volume of data entry within the ETO database.
  • Inform relevant stakeholders of case acceptances, including Case Managers and Supervisors.
  • Prepare weekly capacity reports to monitor progress towards case acceptance goals.
  • Work alongside the Assistant Director to identify and address any deficiencies in the intake process.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training related to the intake process and Post Release Services.
  • Facilitate the transfer of cases both internally and to other service providers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in human services is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and immigrant populations is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Proven success in effective communication within a multicultural environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work outputs.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital tools for data management.
  • Successful completion of background checks as required.

Work Environment:

  • This position allows for remote work.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
