Job Summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intake Specialist to support our Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS) program for Unaccompanied Children (UC). This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all duties assigned related to the acceptance of referrals within the UC portal system.
  • Evaluate Post Release Services case referrals as Level 1 or Level 2 based on program parameters, including screening for victimization.
  • Coordinate with Regional Coordinators, Supervisors, and Case Managers to ascertain capacity for Level 1 and Level 2 cases prior to intake and case acceptance.
  • Collect intake level data from the UC Portal and perform moderate to high volume of data entry in IRC's ETO database.
  • Notify relevant parties of case acceptances, including Case Managers, Supervisors, Regional Coordinators, and UC shelters.
  • Generate a weekly capacity report to ensure the program is on target to meet its case acceptance goal set by the funder.
  • Work with the Assistant Director to address deficiencies found regarding the intake process and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Assist in development and facilitation of in-service training related to the intake process and levels of Post Release Services.
  • Facilitate transfer cases internally at IRC and to other PRS providers.
Requirements
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in human services with a minimum of 2 years of experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
  • Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
Working Environment

This is a remote work position that may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
