Position Overview:

The Intake Specialist is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in IRC's Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS) for Unaccompanied Children (UC). This position will primarily focus on managing intakes and performing data entry to ensure compliance with funder requirements and maintain case targets.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Execute all tasks related to the acceptance of referrals within the UC portal system.
  • Assess Post Release Services case referrals as Level 1 or Level 2 based on established program parameters, including screening for victimization indicators such as domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
  • Collaborate with Regional Coordinators, Supervisors, and Case Managers to determine capacity for Level 1 and Level 2 cases prior to intake and acceptance.
  • Gather necessary intake level data from the UC Portal for entry into IRC's ETO database.
  • Conduct moderate to high volumes of data entry in IRC's ETO database.
  • Inform relevant stakeholders of case acceptances, including Case Managers, Supervisors, Regional Coordinators, and UC shelters.
  • Prepare a weekly capacity report to ensure the program meets its case acceptance goals set by the funder.
  • Work alongside the Assistant Director to identify and address deficiencies in the intake process, providing recommendations as needed.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training related to the intake process and levels of Post Release Services.
  • Facilitate the transfer of cases internally at IRC and to other PRS providers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: A High School diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in human services is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking abilities; capacity to cultivate effective internal and external relationships.
  • Proven success in working and communicating effectively within a multicultural environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills, adept at multitasking, prioritizing responsibilities, and managing time efficiently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to utilize the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, including FBI fingerprints and Child Abuse and Neglect checks.

Work Environment:

  • Remote work environment.
