Position Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Supervisor will oversee all aspects of shift operations, production efficiency, equipment upkeep, and adherence to regulations. This role also involves monitoring the facility and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and customer regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain operational documentation, including reports, licenses, and procedures.
  • Achieve production goals by setting clear job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job performance; coaching and mentoring staff; and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Support staff development through selection, orientation, and training; fostering opportunities for personal growth.
  • Ensure smooth workflow by monitoring process steps; adjusting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; managing personnel and resources; analyzing methods; implementing cost-saving measures; developing reporting systems; and facilitating corrections to process control issues.
  • Execute production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; achieving work results; prioritizing tasks; tracking progress; adjusting schedules; resolving issues; and reporting production flow outcomes.
  • Uphold quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Ensure equipment functionality by coordinating repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provide manufacturing insights by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance data; addressing inquiries and requests.
  • Revise systems and procedures by assessing operational practices, record-keeping systems, control mechanisms, and resource requirements; implementing necessary changes.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and guiding personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resources; ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Address personnel issues by analyzing data; investigating concerns; identifying solutions; and recommending actions.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing industry publications; building personal networks; benchmarking best practices; and participating in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related results as needed.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 8+ years of supervisory experience
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience, including welding, fabrication, and general maintenance
  • 5+ years of experience operating construction equipment, such as excavators and wheel loaders
  • Experience in materials processing
  • Familiarity with asphalt and concrete plant operations
  • Willingness to wear company-provided personal protective equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Capability to follow instructions accurately
  • Proficiency in using computers for communication and information access
  • Experience in labor relations or union management
