- Title: Event Operations Supervisor

Job Summary

Inside Higher Ed is seeking a part-time Event Operations Supervisor with exceptional customer service expertise to enhance our Guest Services team. This position is pivotal in ensuring a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for audiences, patrons, artists, and clients during various events. Working closely with the Event Lead, the Event Operations Supervisor will manage guest services operations tailored to each event.

Key responsibilities encompass overseeing the Usher staff, addressing accessibility requirements, coordinating with backstage personnel for event logistics, and ensuring effective communication among all teams involved in the event.

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead Guest Services personnel and conduct pre-event briefings to disseminate event-related information
  • Assist in resolving guest seating challenges in collaboration with the Box Office
  • Address guests' accessibility needs as they arise
  • Coordinate with backstage and stage management for event production requirements versus patrons' needs
  • Engage with artists' or clients' staff for merchandise sales and manage financial reconciliation
  • Monitor audience behavior during events and address any issues or emergencies promptly
  • Collaborate with production and facilities teams to resolve venue-related concerns
  • Ensure the venue is clean and adequately stocked before, during, and after performances
  • Accurately record performance timings and attendance
  • Adhere to established health protocols for Guest Services
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of supervisory experience or equivalent training. Strong customer service skills, the ability to solve problems under pressure, and clear communication abilities are crucial. Previous experience in a dynamic theatrical environment is preferred.

Work Environment

The Event Operations Supervisor will work in indoor environments with varying lighting and noise levels. Agility is required to navigate different areas of the venue efficiently. The role may involve off-site shifts and simultaneous event oversight. Flexibility to work varied schedules is essential.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $7.25 - $18.75
