Position Overview

As an Infrastructure Project Engineer, you will be integral to a large-scale expansion initiative, focusing on the collection and analysis of financial data essential for tracking project budgets and forecasts. This role necessitates the application of resource management and oversight principles, along with technical expertise in construction projects.

Project Scope
The extensive project will encompass the development of a new bridge-tunnel system, the refurbishment of existing marine approach structures, and the enhancement of roadway capacity, ultimately aiming to improve traffic flow and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and field personnel to assess production timelines and ensure the availability of all necessary materials and resources for uninterrupted project progress.
  • Scrutinize shop drawings, design criteria, material specifications, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle to uphold quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Contribute technical insights for project planning and scheduling, identifying potential risks that may adversely affect timelines or budgets.
  • Monitor daily production metrics, schedule adherence, and budget forecasts to ensure accurate project performance tracking. Document daily operations using company-approved methodologies.
  • Revise project schedules weekly for management reporting and attend project meetings to present updates on production status as required.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Develop and oversee a three-week work plan, promptly notifying relevant teams of significant schedule adjustments and formulating strategies to mitigate any delays.
  • Initiate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) as necessary throughout the project.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of project quantities using designated cost coding to maintain financial integrity. Collaborate with the accounting department regarding invoicing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Assist the engineering team with quality assurance efforts, reviewing necessary certifications and permits. Participate in site inspections with leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Examine Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to promote a safe and compliant work environment for all personnel. Engage in weekly safety briefings with field teams and project leadership, presenting safety assessments as needed.
  • Support the estimating team by providing technical input on project scheduling, budgeting, and cost parameters.
  • Contribute to the creation of design documentation and provide technical insights as required.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, schedules, and workforce as necessary.
  • Finalize project close-out procedures in collaboration with owner representatives and field teams.
  • Maintain awareness of company values and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction engineering is essential.
  • Familiarity with resource management techniques (e.g., cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technologies is preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge of design-build or alternative construction methodologies is advantageous.
  • Ability to set clear expectations for team members regarding their roles and responsibilities.
  • Capable of delegating tasks effectively to advance project objectives.
  • Proficient in managing multiple engineering tasks simultaneously to achieve common goals.
  • Advanced understanding of contract specifications and quality assurance standards.
  • Adept at identifying budgetary concerns and proposing solutions to mitigate project delays.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting practices, quantity tracking, and cost coding is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and time management is preferred.
  • Ability to take responsibility and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
