Purpose of the Role:

The Chief Operations Executive will be responsible for overseeing and directing the global manufacturing processes at Humanetics Corporation, a leader in the production of crash test dummies and related safety technologies. This role reports directly to the President and CEO and collaborates closely with various functional leaders throughout the organization.

In this capacity, the Chief Operations Executive will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of existing operations, methodologies, and technology applications, while enhancing customer engagement and operational efficiency through the application of agile practices, lean manufacturing principles, and data-driven decision-making.

The incumbent will foster a culture centered on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and accountability, while also spearheading initiatives to attract and retain top talent, providing mentorship opportunities within the organization.

This role is pivotal in managing performance metrics, service levels, inventory control, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated professional with a proven track record in managing low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to working in a dynamic, customer-centric setting. A hands-on approach and meticulous attention to detail are also critical for success.


Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Customer Engagement:
- Develop and implement effective growth strategies, technology initiatives, and standard operating procedures to drive operational excellence.
- Coordinate activities across various departments, including sales, engineering, procurement, production, and quality assurance, to align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with manufacturing units, R&D, marketing, and customer service to translate product and service requirements into actionable operational plans.
- Address and resolve external business-related issues by liaising with quality, R&D, and marketing teams.
- Formulate short- and long-term strategies to enhance competitive advantages and reduce costs through efficient manufacturing practices, including automation and system improvements.
- Ensure that quality, cost, and production objectives are met consistently.

Production & Operations Management:
- Optimize production efficiency through effective management of procurement, planning, inventory, and workforce resources.
- Assess and enhance the operational performance of all manufacturing facilities, providing technical guidance to achieve business objectives.
- Monitor financial performance and implement process improvements to ensure profitability.
- Develop capital project budgets aimed at reducing costs and improving quality and production capabilities.

Standards, Compliance, and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and provide comprehensive training to staff.
- Direct the establishment and enforcement of policies to meet legal and regulatory standards, including ISO compliance.
- Promote a safe work environment by adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting regular audits, and reviewing program effectiveness.
- Create and implement an ESG strategy to support continuous improvement and sustainability goals.

Staff Management:
- Lead the recruitment, performance management, and development of staff, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and objectives.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations strategy and execution within a high-tech engineering context.
- Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Logistics.
- Extensive experience in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing with oversight of quality and engineering functions.
- Proven management experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or custom manufacturing.
- Experience overseeing multiple facilities and applying lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex operational issues.
- Willingness to travel as required for business purposes.
