Job Overview:
The Lead Solutions Architect within the client's Software Engineering division is tasked with the design, implementation, and upkeep of data architecture frameworks that bolster application initiatives and strategic goals. This role necessitates collaboration with diverse teams to grasp business needs, pinpoint data sources, and devise digital solutions that are both efficient and scalable. The Lead Solutions Architect will also be instrumental in shaping solutions, applications, infrastructure, and tools for a cloud-centric team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing an IT Architecture practice and promoting the adoption of architectural standards and methodologies.
  • Oversee activities throughout the phases of solution ideation, design, and implementation.
  • Analyze business contexts for solutions addressing company challenges while defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential alternatives, and selecting the most suitable option.
  • Effectively communicate architectural designs to stakeholders and collaborate with existing domain architects to formalize and adopt IT standards and procedures.
  • Provide innovative solutions that incorporate AI features as necessary.
  • Support the development of a solutions architecture program, including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture.
  • Ensure solutions are not only fit for purpose but also adhere closely to technology solution standards and guidelines.
  • Influence necessary changes to standards and assist the domain architecture team in managing solutions and financial planning for application solutions.
  • Support the architectural components of all application projects within peer IT portfolios.
  • Guide the identification and recommendation of suitable solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options, focusing on business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Conduct analyses of security protection technologies as required.
  • Possess familiarity with agile software development methodologies and a solid understanding of the enterprise project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate experience in developing architectural solutions that encompass multiple tiers.
  • Have knowledge of identity resolution and management concepts within customer-facing web applications.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A proven track record of 7-10 years as a solutions architect or in a similar capacity, particularly with high-volume applications.
  • Expertise in backend technologies (Java, Oracle) and in-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services higher-level services (e.g., ECS, SNS, SQS, Lambda, Kinesis, S3, Parameter Store, Cloud Formation).
  • Understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra), along with data integration technologies (e.g., message queues, API integrations).
  • A strong DevOps mindset with experience in various CI/CD tools and infrastructure management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
