Disaster Response Leadership Opportunity

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Disaster Officer to lead our disaster response efforts in the region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our disaster cycle services program, ensuring that our communities are prepared and equipped to respond to disasters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disaster Response Leadership: Direct a team of employees and volunteers to deliver disaster services in a rapid, accessible, and equitable manner to meet the urgent needs of our clients.
  • Program Management: Oversee the successful implementation of the disaster cycle services program in alignment with our Fundamental Principles and established program standards.
  • Community Engagement: Lead regional efforts to prepare and mobilize communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and emergencies.
  • Matrix Management: Build relationships and collaborate with internal partners, including employees and volunteers, in a matrix management environment.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as the regional disaster leader and Red Cross disaster subject matter expert.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • Management Experience: 5 years of management experience of paid or volunteer workforce.
  • Valid Driver's License
