Role Responsibilities

:
  • Grant Specialist II - Engages in grant development, coordination, and administration tasks at a journey-level. Operates under general supervision, exercising moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Monitors and analyzes grant budgets, identifies spending trends, and develops requirements for grant programs.
  • Grant Specialist III - Undertakes grant development, coordination, and administration work at a journey-level. Functions under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Responsible for monitoring and analyzing grant budgets, identifying spending trends, and developing requirements for grant programs.
  • Grant Specialist IV - Conducts highly complex grant development, coordination, and administration work at a senior-level. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Monitors and analyzes grant budgets, identifies spending trends, and develops requirements for grant programs.

Additional Responsibilities

: Other duties may include participating in disaster response and recovery efforts or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation, which may necessitate alternate shift patterns or locations.

Qualifications

:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public administration, business, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in grant administration, development, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Grant Specialist II – Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Grant Specialist III – Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Grant Specialist IV – Minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

:
  • Experience as a Grant Coordinator, Grant Specialist, or Grant Manager.
  • Familiarity with Disaster Recovery and community development block grant work.
  • Experience overseeing federal funds or federally funded programs.

Essential Skills and Abilities

:
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding grants and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in grant preparation, development, evaluation, and monitoring.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret guidelines, policies, and regulations effectively.
  • Capacity to manage time effectively and adhere to established work schedules.

Physical Requirements

: This position primarily involves sedentary office work, with routine mobility required for various duties. The role necessitates extensive computer use and communication with clients and customers.
