ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE

The Food & Beverage team is essential in delivering a consistent and enjoyable shopping experience for our guests by ensuring that products are fresh, well-stocked, and accurately priced. This team excels in operational efficiency and process management, overseeing all aspects of food and beverage services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage.

As a Food & Beverage Specialist, you will gain:

  • Insight into guest service fundamentals and experience in fostering a guest-first culture within Food & Beverage.
  • Knowledge on advising guests regarding optimal purchasing times and quantities, along with storage recommendations.
  • Experience in the essentials of Food & Beverage operations: sales trends, inventory management, quality control, and promotional strategies.
  • Understanding of food seasonality, freshness standards, food safety protocols, and merchandising techniques.

Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience by maintaining a fresh and well-stocked shopping environment at all times.
  • Ensuring adherence to Food & Beverage Standards.
  • Recognizing how operational procedures influence inventory loss and profitability.
  • Executing Food & Beverage processes such as replenishment, stocking, zoning, and data accuracy.
  • Managing fast-moving inventory by adjusting stock based on seasonal changes and demand.
  • Following all food safety guidelines as outlined in best practices.
  • Utilizing sampling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance product visibility and sales.
  • Collaborating with distributors to maintain product displays and backroom organization.
  • Identifying and processing damaged or expired items according to best practices.
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere by greeting all guests sincerely.
  • Observing guest interactions to provide tailored assistance based on their needs.
  • Engaging with guests to understand their specific requirements and enhance their shopping experience.
  • Being knowledgeable about store products and services to address guest inquiries effectively.
  • Thanking guests genuinely and expressing appreciation for their choice to shop with us.
  • Complying with all relevant beverage laws and regulations.
  • Handling environmentally sensitive items with care.
  • Using and maintaining personal protective equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Working safely and identifying hazards to ensure a secure environment for all.
  • Supporting guest services such as cashier duties and order pick-up while maintaining compliance.
  • Performing additional duties as needed based on business requirements.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (Bakery Only).
  • Previous experience in food or grocery preferred but not mandatory.
  • A welcoming and helpful demeanor towards guests and team members.
  • Ability to adapt to current technology requirements.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Quick problem-solving skills to address guest inquiries.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.

ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Accurate handling of cash register operations.
  • Ability to climb ladders safely.
  • Efficiently scanning, handling, and moving merchandise, including lifting items up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Handling merchandise in coolers and freezers, up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to work in environments where allergens may be present.
