ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE

The Food & Beverage team collaborates to ensure guests enjoy a fresh, well-stocked, and safe shopping experience throughout the day.

This team guarantees a consistent experience for our guests by maintaining product freshness, stock availability, accurate pricing, and signage on the sales floor. They are proficient in operations, processes, and efficiency, overseeing food and beverage services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage across all Food & Beverage sections of the store.

As a Food & Beverage Expert, you will gain:

  • Understanding of guest service principles and experience in fostering a guest-first culture in Food & Beverage
  • Ability to guide guests on purchasing items, quantities, and storage tips
  • Experience in Food & Beverage business fundamentals: sales trends, inventory management, quality control, guest shopping behaviors, and pricing strategies
  • Knowledge of food seasonality, quality standards, food safety protocols, and merchandising techniques

Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring a fresh and fully stocked shopping environment during all operational hours
  • Maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage Standards
  • Understanding how operational procedures influence inventory and profitability
  • Executing Food & Beverage processes, including replenishment, stocking, zoning, data accuracy, and cleaning
  • Managing fast-moving inventory by adjusting stock based on seasonality and demand
  • Adhering to food safety requirements as per best practices
  • Utilizing sampling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance product visibility and sales
  • Collaborating with distributors to manage product displays and backroom organization
  • Identifying and processing damaged or expired items according to established protocols
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere by genuinely greeting all guests
  • Observing guest interactions to assess their needs and provide tailored assistance
  • Engaging with guests to understand their specific requirements
  • Being knowledgeable about store offerings to resolve guest inquiries and enhance their experience
  • Expressing gratitude to guests for choosing to shop with us
  • Complying with all relevant beverage laws applicable to the business
  • Handling environmentally sensitive items responsibly
  • Using personal protective equipment appropriately and following safety guidelines
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Working safely to protect yourself and others, identifying hazards, and adhering to safety policies
  • Supporting guest services such as cashier duties and order pick-up while maintaining compliance
  • Performing additional duties as needed based on business requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (Bakery Only)
  • Previous experience in food or grocery is preferred but not mandatory
  • A welcoming and helpful demeanor towards guests and team members
  • Ability to adapt to current technology
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Quickly resolving guest inquiries
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes

WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS

  • Accurate handling of cash register operations
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Efficiently scanning, handling, and moving merchandise, including lifting items up to 40 pounds
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Handling merchandise in coolers and freezers
  • Ability to work in environments where allergens may be present
