ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE

The Food & Beverage team collaborates to ensure that guests enjoy a fresh, well-stocked, and safe shopping experience throughout the day.

This team guarantees a consistent experience for our guests by maintaining product freshness, stock availability, accurate pricing, and signage on the sales floor. They are skilled in operations, processes, and efficiency, overseeing all aspects of food and beverage services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage.

As a Food & Beverage Specialist, you will gain:

  • Insight into guest service fundamentals and experience in fostering a guest-first culture in Food & Beverage.
  • The ability to guide guests on purchasing items, including timing and quantity, as well as storage recommendations.
  • Experience in the fundamentals of the Food & Beverage business: sales trends, inventory management, quality control, guest shopping behaviors, and pricing strategies.
  • Knowledge of food seasonality, freshness standards, food safety protocols, and merchandising techniques.

Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring a fresh and fully stocked shopping environment during all operational hours, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
  • Maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage Standards.
  • Understanding how operational procedures influence inventory loss and profitability.
  • Executing Food & Beverage processes, including replenishment, stocking, zoning, data accuracy, and cleaning.
  • Managing fast-moving inventory by adjusting stock based on seasonality and demand.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations as outlined in best practices.
  • Utilizing sampling and suggestive selling techniques to promote products and enhance sales.
  • Collaborating with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributors to maintain DSD Planograms and backroom organization.
  • Identifying and processing damaged, recalled, or expired items according to best practices.
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere by genuinely greeting all guests.
  • Observing guest interactions to assess their needs and tailoring your approach accordingly.
  • Engaging with guests authentically, asking questions to better understand their specific requirements.
  • Being knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available throughout the store to assist guests effectively.
  • Expressing gratitude to guests and ensuring they feel valued during their shopping experience.
  • Complying with all federal, state, and local adult beverage regulations as applicable.
  • Handling environmentally sensitive items responsibly in case of spills or breaks.
  • Using and caring for personal protective equipment and following safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times.
  • Working safely to benefit yourself and others, identifying hazards, and adhering to safety policies.
  • Supporting guest services such as backup cashiering and order pickup while maintaining compliance.
  • Performing other duties as required by business needs.

We offer comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge needed to excel as a Food & Beverage Specialist. However, some skills that are beneficial include:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (Bakery Only).
  • Previous experience in food or grocery preferred, but not mandatory.
  • A welcoming and helpful demeanor towards guests and team members.
  • The ability to learn and adapt to current technology.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Quick problem-solving skills to address guest inquiries.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow multi-step processes.

WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS

  • Accurately manage cash register operations.
  • Be comfortable climbing ladders.
  • Efficiently handle and move merchandise, including lifting items up to 40 pounds.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Handle merchandise in coolers and freezers, also up to 40 pounds.
  • Work in environments where allergens may be present.
