Position Overview:
The Portercare Adventist Health System is seeking a Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our esteemed Neurosciences Department. This role involves the assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of treatment strategies for individuals facing cognitive challenges due to various medical conditions.
Patients may present with issues stemming from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, brain tumors, exposure to toxins, spinal cord injuries, anoxic incidents, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. Additionally, psychological or psychiatric conditions may co-occur, with or without behavioral disturbances.
Referrals:
Evaluations are referred by a diverse range of healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-interventional radiologists, epileptologists, sports medicine specialists, and hospitalists. Our services cater to both outpatient and inpatient populations, with a significant portion of assessments originating from outpatient referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cognitive, neuropsychological, and psychological assessments with the assistance of psychometrists.
- Analyze and interpret assessment results, compiling comprehensive neuropsychological reports that include diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience in pre-surgical evaluations for epilepsy patients, including participation in WADA testing, approximately two to four times monthly.
- A Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an APA-accredited institution.
- Completion of a two-year post-doctoral fellowship/residency in neuropsychology, adhering to the Houston Guidelines.
- Eligibility for board certification or board certification status.
- Active licensure in Colorado for independent practice.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with the capability to conduct evaluations in Spanish.
