Role Summary:

The Mixologist is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests in a vibrant casino atmosphere while adhering to all legal and regulatory standards regarding the responsible service of alcoholic beverages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responds to inquiries about the menu and beverage options.
• Maintains a comprehensive understanding of drink offerings and any special items available.
• Stays updated on industry trends and demonstrates proficiency in both traditional and contemporary drink preparation methods.
• Ensures a seamless service experience for guests and staff.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area to ensure a safe environment for all patrons.
• Promotes premium selections of wines, beers, and spirits.
• Monitors guest behavior for signs of intoxication and responds appropriately.
• Anticipates guest needs and provides personalized service, using guest names when appropriate.
• Delivers prompt, friendly, and professional service while communicating clearly.
• Records all transactions accurately in the point-of-sale system.
• Ensures timely delivery of food and beverage orders.
• Maintains high standards of quality and presentation in all offerings.
• Ensures cleanliness of ashtrays and their proper placement.
• Conducts regular maintenance of the bar area and assists with cleaning as necessary.
• Stocks the bar with necessary supplies as needed.
• Handles guest payments accurately and efficiently.
• Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
• Exhibits a courteous and friendly demeanor towards guests and team members.
• Communicates respectfully with all guests and staff.
• Addresses guest concerns promptly and escalates issues to management when necessary.
• Demonstrates excellent attendance and flexibility to work various shifts as required.
• Complies with all local liquor laws and regulations.
• Follows all company policies regarding alcohol service.
• Adheres to the Guest Service Agreement for BlueWater Resort & Casino.
• Completes all required training as assigned.
• Performs all duties in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following abilities:

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
• Accurate cash handling and basic math skills.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Requirements:

• Experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or nightclub setting is essential.
• Strong knowledge of wines and spirits is preferred.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent experience in food service is required.
• Must obtain and maintain relevant food and alcohol service certifications.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
• All employees must secure a gaming license prior to employment.
• Compliance with health and safety guidelines regarding personal protective equipment is mandatory.
• Participation in training related to health and safety protocols is required.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include:

Regularly standing and walking, using hands for handling, and effective communication. The role may require lifting up to 50 pounds and moving heavier items. Vision requirements include the ability to see close and at a distance, with the ability to adjust focus as needed.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions. The noise level may fluctuate from quiet to moderate, with potential exposure to second-hand smoke. Interaction with guests and staff is frequent, and the environment may become hectic during peak times.
