Position Overview
This role is tailored for individuals pursuing a career within the CVN Deck Machinery Group.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be tasked with the development and execution of testing protocols for mechanical and electrical systems on nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. Utilizing engineering expertise, the candidate will gather and assess shipboard test data to ensure that system performance aligns with all technical and contractual standards.

This position requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to implement a cohesive testing strategy that prioritizes safety and quality while considering scheduling and budgetary constraints.

Technical Leadership
The candidate will assume a technical leadership role for one or more of the following systems:
  • AFFF/WDCM
  • Halon/HFP
  • Magazine/Miscellaneous Sprinkling
  • Steering Gear
  • Anchor Windlass
  • Underway Replenishment Systems
  • Air/Gas Systems

Test Solution Development
The role involves synthesizing customer requirements into effective system test solutions, taking into account technical, scheduling, and cost constraints. The candidate will also develop and oversee the preparation and execution of detailed test plans, procedures, and timelines for system completion.

Qualifications
Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD.

Preferred Skills
Experience with shipboard deck machinery systems and/or damage control systems is advantageous. Familiarity with operating major equipment in a maritime environment and conducting tests is beneficial. The ability to perform engineering evaluations and troubleshoot various electrical and mechanical components is essential.

Strong communication skills are required to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders. A comprehensive understanding of safety, cost, schedule, and quality in relation to the company's deliverables is crucial.

Willingness to work in challenging environments, including heights and confined spaces, is necessary.
