Position Overview

We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to enhance the operational capabilities of our advanced programs within the defense sector. This role is crucial for overseeing the management of complex system infrastructures, implementing industry best practices for system configurations, and ensuring robust backup and recovery strategies for our IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain systems and hardware, with a focus on environments that support critical applications.
  • System Configuration: Set up both physical and virtual systems in accordance with established best practices and functional requirements.
  • Data Protection: Develop and oversee backup and recovery protocols to safeguard IT infrastructure.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance metrics, troubleshoot issues, and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations.
  • Security Oversight: Implement security protocols to protect systems and ensure adherence to relevant compliance standards.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate storage resources for systems, optimize performance, and address potential vulnerabilities.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage with project stakeholders and communicate technical solutions effectively.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility for a US DoD Top Secret SCI clearance; US citizenship is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in system administration, virtual environments, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on expertise with containerization technologies, virtualization platforms, and data protection strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • US citizenship with the ability to fulfill additional security requirements.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Linux, Docker, or Kubernetes.
