Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Water/Wastewater Engineer with 15-20 years of extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater systems. This includes expertise in facilities, transmission systems, storage solutions, pumping stations, force mains, and the assessment, design, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer systems. Experience during the construction phase is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be capable of:
  • Independently managing technical tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Leading and coordinating project activities, serving as the design lead when necessary.
  • Supporting the development of technical proposals and approaches.
  • Exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
  • Mentoring and training junior engineering staff.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Overseeing the management, planning, and design of water and wastewater projects.
  • Leading the design office operations in Tidewater Virginia.
  • Identifying and preparing proposals and presentations to secure new projects.
  • Preparing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring timely and on-budget project delivery while meeting quality standards.
  • Participating in the construction phase, including pre-bid meetings, interpretations, evaluations, and contract preparations.
  • Engaging in pre-project presentations and interviews.
  • Leading project planning from procurement through execution and closeout, continuously monitoring project status to achieve objectives.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia or the ability to obtain licensure through comity within six months.
