The Job Role:
The Advanced Propulsion team is in search of a skilled team leader to contribute to the development of the next-generation fast attack submarine, SSN(X). This role presents an excellent opportunity to participate in the initial stages of a new design, impacting the evolution of the Navy's premier attack submarine platform. The individual will be part of an engineering team focused on enhancing turbine generators. Responsibilities encompass managing electrical components and systems associated with the turbine generator, from conceptual design through to component production, testing, and troubleshooting technical issues. The candidate will work closely with the engineering manager and team members to define strategies, set objectives, and carry out tasks effectively. Additionally, they will engage in research, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master's Degree with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ph.D. with no prior experience (An Engineering Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-accredited program is required)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical expertise in turbine generator electrical components such as generators, exciters, voltage regulators, and speed governors.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in systems engineering or engineering project management.
