Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Faculty

Role Overview: The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is inviting applications for a non-tenure track faculty position focused on plastic and reconstructive surgery. The ideal candidate will possess clinical expertise in general and reconstructive plastic surgery, particularly in burn treatment. This role includes significant teaching responsibilities at the VCU Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Teaching**
The faculty member will be responsible for educating residents in all facets of plastic and reconstructive surgery, providing direct supervision in resident clinics at the VCU Medical Center.
2. **Research**
The faculty member will initiate clinical research projects in collaboration with medical students and residents, aiming to establish evidence-based practices in hand surgery, burn treatment, general plastic surgery, and surgical education.
3. **Service**
The faculty member will participate in departmental and hospital committees as assigned and engage with regional and national professional organizations.
4. **Clinical Duties**
The faculty member will provide care for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery patients on the MCV campus and in community healthcare facilities. They will be expected to develop a robust surgical practice with the support of the division and departmental leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Board certified or board eligible in plastic and reconstructive surgery Completion of a burn fellowship Dedication to resident education and mentorship Commitment to clinical research and innovation Strong interest in burn treatment and general plastic surgery Proven experience in promoting a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to fostering such an environment as a faculty member Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited plastic surgery residency program ORP Eligible: Yes
