Research Laboratory Technician in Surgical Innovations

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is in search of a dedicated and proficient Research Laboratory Technician to become a vital member of our innovative team. The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to advancing research projects within the realm of plastic and reconstructive surgery, focusing on areas such as keloid biology, burn wound recovery, and muscular dystrophies. This research encompasses investigating underlying mechanisms and assessing various regenerative therapies aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the research team to conduct experimental procedures. Ensure the efficient operation of the laboratory and maintain high standards of safety and compliance. Engage in laboratory tasks that support research objectives through cellular models, patient and animal sample sequencing, and therapeutic compound analysis.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment. Proficiency in working with cellular models, sample processing, sequencing, animal models, heart function, and muscle physiology. Ability to work independently and effectively in a laboratory setting. Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment among faculty, staff, and students.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in cell culture, PCR, and protein analysis. Familiarity with collaborative team science approaches. Knowledge of IACUC submission processes.
Additional Information:
This position is classified as a restricted role, with continued employment contingent upon project needs, funding availability, and performance evaluations.
