Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastic Surgeon to join our team as a collaborative faculty member in the Department of Surgery. This is a non-tenure track position that will focus on clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Provide high-quality patient care in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department, with a focus on general plastic surgery, microsurgery, hand surgery, and wound management.
  • Teaching Responsibilities: Teach and mentor residents and medical students in all areas of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, with a focus on evidence-based practice outcomes.
  • Research Responsibilities: Establish and conduct clinical research projects with medical students and residents to advance the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
  • Service Responsibilities: Participate in departmental and hospital committees, and engage with regional and national professional organizations to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Commitment to resident education and teaching
  • Commitment to clinical research and innovation
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship experience in hand and microsurgery
