Unit Mission: The Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is committed to delivering comprehensive, cutting-edge clinical services, educating medical students, residents, and observers, and engaging in clinical and translational research.
Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified otolaryngologist specializing in reconstructive surgery. The Department is looking for a board-eligible or board-certified, fellowship-trained Otolaryngologist to enhance our thriving academic practice.
Compensation: Salary and academic rank will be competitive and aligned with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Provide expert surgical treatment for various Otolaryngology conditions. Demonstrate excellence in patient care and contribute to the growth of individual clinical practice.
- Education: Engage in the training of Otolaryngology residents, medical students, and other learners. Deliver continuing medical education (CME) lectures for healthcare professionals.
- Research: Establish a reputation for excellence in clinical and/or translational research, with expectations for publication in peer-reviewed journals and potential for external funding. Foster interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance research and clinical initiatives.
- Service: Participate in departmental, Health System, and University committees as required. Engage in professional service activities, including peer review and conference organization.
Qualifications:
- Board certified/eligible in Otolaryngology
- Demonstrated interest in clinical practice, education, and research
- Completion of a fellowship program
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia upon hiring
- Experience in promoting a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to fostering such an environment
