Job Summary:

The Director of Managed Care and Strategic Partnerships provides strategic and operational expertise in negotiating managed care contracts for the University Medical Center of El Paso. This role models and analyzes managed care contracts for potential opportunities and collaboratively works with managed care plans to execute Managed Care agreements. The Director performs analyses to track identified opportunities through contract negotiations and execution, identifying and coordinating business development opportunities in collaboration with the organization's strategic business plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and manage managed care contracts to ensure optimal reimbursement rates and terms.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with managed care plans, advocating for the University Medical Center of El Paso's interests and services.
  • Collaborate with the organization's business development team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in managed care contracting and business development.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the organization's leadership team on managed care-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in managed care contracting and business development, with a strong background in healthcare industry contracting and negotiation.
  • Five years of management experience, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry contracting, reimbursement methodologies, and government regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to and use information system tools available to fulfill job requirements.
  • Leadership ability, with strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with physicians, management, staff, external agencies, and patients/families.
