About the Role:
The University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Development to oversee the implementation of a comprehensive development plan designed to address the specific financial needs of the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic approach to fundraising efforts, including major gifts, planned giving, and kind donations.
- Identify and steward prospective donors, strengthening relationships with existing donors and securing financial support from businesses, organizations, and individuals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement a comprehensive development plan, prioritizing the institution's financial needs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines while maintaining impeccable attention to detail and excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, physicians, and the general public, ensuring excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in fundraising, donor acknowledgment, and stewardship program design and implementation.
Requirements:
- Five years of management experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and developing comprehensive development plans.
- Master's degree in a related field, such as business administration, non-profit management, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives, engage diverse audiences, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational, analytical, technical, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, self-motivated, flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience playing a key role in a major capital campaign, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and event management software, with familiarity with donor and prospecting tools, such as Blackbaud.
- Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required by the event schedule.
