**Job Summary**

The **Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships** will play a critical role in supporting the mission of United Way by analyzing giving data, developing and executing a strategic plan, and forging collaborative relationships to achieve fundraising goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • **Prospect Management**: Gather and utilize data to make informed requests for donations and other types of contributions.
  • **Effective Selling**: Employ consultative selling techniques to match donor interests and community aspirations to United Way products and solutions.
  • **Create Win/Win Relationships**: Understand United Way and donor objectives and where they intersect, and identify tangible outcomes that benefit both parties.
  • **Steward Donors**: Recognize the power of effective stewardship and develop plans to steward donors of all giving levels.
**Additional Responsibilities**
  • **Maintain Close Relationships**: Maintain close, positive relationships with key accounts in assigned portfolio throughout the year.
  • **Drive Corporate Partnerships**: Drive the strategy and execution around reimagining corporate partnerships and how to engage employees through workplace campaigns.
  • **Presentations and Engagement**: Conduct presentations to employees, key executives, and other special interest groups.
  • **Combined Campaigns**: Oversee Combined Campaigns, working closely with City, County, and State officials to ensure rules and guidelines are followed.
**Donor Networks and Relations**
  • **Annual Development**: Annual development and management of strategies for increasing membership and contribution from various donor networks.
  • **Donor Engagement**: Oversee donor relations and engagement, including corporate engagement.
**Grants and Funding**
  • **Grant Research and Coordination**: Working closely with other staff, responsible for upkeep of grant tracker, grant research, and coordination of grant-related meetings.
**Staff Leadership and Management**
  • **Recruit and Manage Staff**: Recruit, supervise, and manage qualified and dedicated staff within the Philanthropy Department.
  • **Professional Development**: Plan and coordinate ongoing professional development and appropriate skills training for staff.
**Community Partnerships and Engagement**
  • **Community Knowledge**: Maintain working knowledge of all UWEPC programs, engagement, and initiatives to serve as a strong representative and advocate for the organization.
  • **Community Partnerships**: Seek and maintain strong community partnerships with local service providers and potential supporters.
**Cross-Functional Responsibilities**
  • **Collaboration and Partnerships**: Work effectively with other teams at United Way to provide appropriate support and value to partners.
  • **Future Partnerships**: Foster creative thinking and facilitate future partnerships within corporate accounts.

**Minimum Qualifications**
  • **Education and Experience**: Bachelor's degree in subjects related to health and human services, non-profit or organizational management, public relations, communications, marketing, or social services, plus seven (7) years of work experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the duties of the position.
  • **Preferred Qualifications**: Master's degree in Public Administration, Health & Human Services, Communications, or Business Administration preferred.
**Preferred Qualifications**
  • **Non-Profit Knowledge**: Knowledge of the non-profit and social services sector is essential.
  • **Desired Skills**: Skills in grant-writing, grant management, personnel management, program development and operation, leadership, strategic planning, management of sub-contractors and partnerships, and volunteer engagement are desired.

  • **Work Environment**: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and/or hear.
  • **Computer Use**: Continual use of the hands with wrist and finger movement using a keyboard is required.
