Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve laboratory services and meet hospital goals and objectives.
  • Manage and supervise department staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other departments and services.
  • Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective working relationships.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources and social work principles and standard practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for department staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in laboratory services.

Requirements:

  • Seven years of experience in a management/supervisor capacity in a regional/reference lab environment.
  • Strong background in laboratory services and knowledge of budget preparations, purchasing, bookkeeping, and personnel management.
  • ASCP Board Certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology required; Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey understanding of complex issues.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with cultural sensitivity.
