The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are expanding our Energy division and looking for a Project Engineer in Construction Management. In this position, you will support the oversight of projects, focusing on financial performance and other intricate aspects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement activities.
  • Helping to develop the Scope of Work for subcontractors.
  • Coordinating field operations for both self-performed and subcontracted tasks as needed. Addressing inquiries from Superintendents, reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications, and other resources to provide timely responses.
  • Communicating with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients to aid the project management team in daily operations.
  • Developing, processing, and tracking equipment, material, and informational submissions.
  • Creating and distributing Operations and Maintenance Manuals for clients.
  • Gaining comprehensive knowledge of contracts, drawings, and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Assisting in managing client and subcontractor change orders.
  • Updating and maintaining all project documentation, including employee, vendor, and miscellaneous files.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Understanding of construction principles is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other commonly encountered documents is required.
  • A BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience is necessary.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project is required; familiarity with SharePoint and Procore is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or office administration is advantageous.

The compensation range for this role is competitive; however, the specific salary offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt position and will be compensated hourly. A bonus may be included as part of the compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. Salary information is based on market location.
