Position Summary:

This role involves overseeing, directing, and managing teams and subcontractors to execute various earthwork construction tasks safely, efficiently, and with high quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure distances from reference points to establish construction site boundaries.
  • Guide work crews in operating machinery for tasks such as dumping, scraping, and spreading soil.
  • Ensure the accuracy of graded surfaces using hand levels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned under the Supervisor role.
  • May oversee specialized crews, including those for asphalt paving, fine grading, and drainage installation.
Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2 to 4 years of specific job training to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance in this position.

Skills and Abilities:

Candidates should possess the ability to:

  • Interpret engineering drawings.
  • Adhere to safety protocols.
  • Work in challenging environments.
  • Follow detailed instructions and meet established standards.
  • Accurately assess distances and slopes.
  • Make informed decisions based on established criteria.
Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be capable of:

  • Stooping, bending, and crouching.
  • Utilizing hands, arms, and legs effectively.
  • Seeing clearly, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
