Our mission at LAYC/MMYC is to empower a varied demographic of youth, facilitating their successful transition into adulthood through innovative, multicultural, and comprehensive programs that cater to their social, academic, and career aspirations. Annually, we provide services and opportunities to around 5,000 individuals, promoting academic success, healthy lifestyles, and guiding youth towards a prosperous adulthood. Additionally, we engage in advocacy and public policy initiatives to expand opportunities for young people.

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, with on-call availability on a rotating basis, 7 days a week from 4 PM to 8 AM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee case management services for children and their families.
  • Facilitate the safe and timely release of children to their designated sponsors.
  • Train and supervise case managers and transportation specialists.
  • Conduct intake assessments and provide feedback to Family Resource Specialists and Clinical Supervisors regarding admissions and placements.
  • Create a welcoming and secure environment for participants.
  • Develop, monitor, and update individualized service and case plans in collaboration with participants and relevant service providers.
  • Document all interactions with children and their families within 48 hours.
  • Ensure that safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency indicators are addressed and recorded in the appropriate databases.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services is required, along with a minimum of three years of progressive experience demonstrating supervisory and case management capabilities.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with community and local resources.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Completion of criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks.
  • A flexible, energetic, and positive attitude with a commitment to youth development in a respectful environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with culturally diverse populations.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements as mandated by LAYC/MMYC.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Some local and/or regional travel may be necessary.
