Job Overview

Position Title: Admissions Intern

Organizational Purpose: Oliver Scholars is dedicated to empowering high-achieving Black and Latinx students from underrepresented communities in New York City, equipping them for success in elite independent schools and prestigious universities. Our mission is to provide essential support to our Scholars, enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute positively to society.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admissions. The Admissions Intern is expected to exhibit both independent and collaborative work skills, engaging effectively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, and administrative staff. A flexible schedule is necessary, including availability during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prospective families and students to gather required documentation for program entry.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance program visibility.
  • Perform administrative data entry tasks.
  • Assist in planning and organizing events.
  • Conceive and execute innovative marketing campaigns for the upcoming admissions cycle.
  • Analyze admissions data and provide insights for future admissions strategies.
  • Research potential schools and community partners relevant to the admissions process.
  • Input data into a new database system.
  • Prepare various communications, including memos, emails, invoices, reports, and other correspondence.
  • Draft and revise documents ranging from letters to comprehensive reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Fluency in both oral and written Spanish.
  • Availability for part-time work, ranging from 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Willingness to attend in-person office hours as needed.

Compensation: A stipend of $1000 will be provided.
